Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Arcos (“we”, “us”) collects when you use the Arcos road trip companion app, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Arcos you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

Account information: when you create an account we collect your email address through our authentication provider. We never see or store your password.

Trip content you create: trips, stops, routes, vehicle profiles, saved stays, journal entries, and messages you send to the in-app Ask assistant.

Usage and device data: basic app interaction and device information used to operate the service, diagnose problems, and prevent abuse.

How we use your information

To provide and maintain your account and your trips.

To power features you request, such as building routes, finding stays, and answering questions through the Ask assistant.

To process subscriptions, restore purchases, and apply the correct plan features.

To keep the service secure and to comply with legal obligations.

Service providers

We share limited information with providers who help us run Arcos: our authentication provider (account sign-in), our subscription provider (purchase and entitlement management), AI providers that power the Ask assistant, and public data sources such as Recreation.gov and mapping/places providers used to look up campgrounds and points of interest.

These providers process information only to perform services for us.

Affiliate links

Some lodging and booking links in Arcos are affiliate links. If you book through them, Arcos may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. We record that a link was opened so commissions can be attributed, but we do not control the third-party sites you visit; their own privacy policies apply.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your information while your account is active. You can permanently delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. Deleting your account immediately and permanently removes your trips, stops, saved stays, journal entries, vehicle profiles, Ask conversations, and your account record. This cannot be undone.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

Arcos is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
